Learn more about our wild west trip next year
The Levy Senior Center is planning a long distance trip to the wild west and Yellowstone area in August 2022. To learn more about this exciting trip, view the pre-recorded informational meeting. For more information or to register for the trip, please contact Tim Carter at timcarter@cityofevanston.org. View the trip brochure. The early bird discount ends April 9.
The Levy Senior Center Foundation is proud to sponsor the Levy Lecture Series, an educational program for residents 55+ years who are passionate about learning. Additional support is provided by Avidor Evanston. The series is free, but registration is required. Lectures through June will be presented on Zoom. Register and you will receive an email with easy-to-follow steps.
The City of Evanston offers a senior congregate lunch program through a grant administered by AgeOptions. Currently, the Levy Senior Center and Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center are distributing 5-pack frozen meals for seniors ages 60 and better. Pick-up is conducted weekly on Tuesdays in the Levy Senior Center parking lot from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. No individual will be denied participation because of an inability to contribute. The suggested donation is $12 per box. For more information, please call the Levy Senior Center at 847-448-8250. To apply for the meal program, please fill out this application.
Calling all volunteers!
The Levy Senior Center Foundation is excited to introduce a new learning volunteer opportunity at the Levy Senior Center that will appeal to those who are experienced or interested in "growing" their vegetable garden know how.
With the help of Garden Club Evanston supervisors we will be planting and caring for four raised and elevated vegetable gardens. Each bed will have a culinary theme. This year's themes include salsa, Nonna’s Italian marinara, indigenous three sisters, and salad bowl. We are looking for three volunteers per shift on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to noon. All beds will be ADA accessible and we will provide gardening tools or you can bring your favorites. Work will include setting plants, seeding, staking, weeding, watering and harvesting. Plus, there will be a whole lot of good garden conversation! To join the fun or for more information, email the Levy Senior Center Foundation at contact@lscfevanston.org.
