- Live in a targeted area for phase 1 (in orange on the map)
- 2-6 months of past-due rent (including current months) between April 2020 and the application date.
- Not receiving Section 8/housing subsidies.
- Meet household income eligibility: <80% Area Median Income (AMI) with a priority for <50% AMI households (see chart below)
How to apply:
Tenants in eligible areas can apply by emailing their name, address, and phone number to CV19rent@cityofevanston.org, or calling (847) 448-8112. They will be contacted to determine eligibility and, if applicable, start an application.
Your tenants may reach out to you to let you know they are applying. Please keep in mind that your ability to provide the required information in a timely manner will impact your tenant's ability to secure rent assistance. If you have tenants in the targeted areas that may be eligible for this program, please share this information with them.
Thank you for your cooperation during these challenging times.
