Levy Senior Center & Fitness Center Memberships
As a reminder, Levy Senior Center and Fitness Center memberships were suspended automatically in mid-March due to the building closure. Levy Senior Center memberships were reinstated on September 8 and were extended accordingly. Fitness Center Memberships remain suspended until the Fitness Center resumes operation. Please call the Levy Senior Center Front Desk at 847-448-8250 to check on the status or to renew your Levy Senior Center Membership.
Easter Island: Under the Eyes of the Ancestors
Travel to Easter Island and learn about rich history of the Polynesian inhabitants that arrived on Easter Island sometime near 1200 AD. Presented by seasoned travelers Barbara Sugden and Ron Vargason. This program will be viewable online via zoom only. Zoom link information will be emailed the day before.

October Finance Series
Ready or Not - Prepare for the Unexpected. All 50+ are welcome to attend. This seminar is sponsored and led by Neil Gardner of Edward Jones Financial in Skokie. No charge. Clay Hand Building and Glazing (Indoor/Outdoor)
Using a variety of clay, tools, methods and imagination, learn how to hand build. Slab roller and extruder are available for use. Fee includes instruction, firing and supplies. Space is limited. In-person program only. Students may work inside the art room or outside in the courtyard.

Continuing Line Dancing – Virtual
This class is for dancers with some previous line dance experience. No time will be given to learning basic steps. The dance level of this class is "high beginner." This class is being offered via Zoom only.

Move it or Lose It (in-person and virtual)
This is a movement class designed to improve balance, coordination, cognition, strength and mobility. This class uses light exercises adapted from a fall prevention program while increasing your mind and body. This program is a fun way to dance your way to health and balance. This program is being offered virtually and in-person.

Adult & Senior Ballet Class (in-person and virtual)
Regain your ballet technique or try for the first time. Come and practice your plies and tendus. We will enjoy a classical ballet class format with barre, center adagio and allegro. All exercises are encouraging our bodies to explore grace and strength. Ability to modify. This program is being offered virtually and in-person.

Science with Seniors
Each month, graduate students from Northwestern University “visit” the Levy Senior Center to discuss different science topics. This month, two topics will be discussed on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.: PETase (an enzyme that breaks down plastic) and Forecasting the US Election. Join via Zoom.
Levy Lecture Series
The Levy Senior Center Foundation will be hosting two lectures this month on October 13 and 27: From Evanston to Uganda: Delivering Health Care to the Developing World presented by Ken Schaefle, MD and From Miniskirt to Hijab: A Discussion presented by Jacqueline Saper. Register today.
Medicare Workshops
In partnership with the Levy Senior Center, AgeOptions will be offering free Medicare fraud workshops throughout October and November. Additionally, the Levy Senior Center and North Shore Senior Center will be offering free Medicare Part D review workshops.
Drive-In Movie
Join us for the next Drive-In Movie on Friday, Nov. 6. Bring the family and grandchildren to join in on the fun.
