Bring your chairs and blankets out to Dawes Park this Sat., Sept. 26 to enjoy a showing of the movie Yesterday with family and friends! The movie will begin at dusk (7:10 p.m.).
Safety guidelines: Remember to maintain a six-foot distance from those outside your household and wear a face covering.

Join elected officials, City staff, neighbors and community partners for a ribbon cutting ceremony and dedication to celebrate the completion of the Robert Crown Community Center & Library project on Sat., Oct. 3, 10 a.m., at Robert Crown Park, Field Number 2. Face coverings are required.
Planning to vote early for the Presidential Election? Here's what you need to know! Early voting will take place Mon., Oct. 19 through Mon., Nov. 2 at the Morton Civic Center, Room G300. Due to COVID-19, the City will be taking extra safety precautions and face coverings must be worn by voters at all times.

Below, you’ll find the latest COVID-19 data from the City’s Health and Human Services Department. Visit the City’s interactive COVID-19 dashboard (view on mobile) for information and metrics updated daily.
You can also view IDPH Restore Illinois indicators for Region 10, which includes Evanston, as well as the criteria that could cause our region to become more restrictive.
Confirmed daily cases
Evanston’s seven-day moving average of confirmed daily cases increased slightly to 5.86 new cases per day over the last seven-day operational period, compared to 5.71 new cases per day for the week prior. Four new COVID-19 cases were reported today in Evanston.
Evanston’s seven-day moving average of new cases per 100,000 residents is 46.28, lower than the State (103.88), Cook County (77), and our neighbors, Chicago (76.8) and Skokie (51.04). The State’s goal is 50 or fewer cases per 100,000 residents.
To date, Evanston has had 1,109 confirmed COVID-19 cases. Seventy-three Evanston residents have died of illness or complications related to COVID-19.
Testing and hospitalizations
The City’s seven-day moving average test positivity rate (the percentage of those tested who tested positive for COVID-19 over a seven-day period) decreased slightly to 1.63 percent, compared to 1.67 percent for the previous seven days. The statewide test seven-day positivity rate stands at 3.5 percent.
As a reminder, residents can access free testing daily at the State's COVID-19 community-based testing sites, including the nearest Harwood Heights and Arlington Heights locations.
COVID-19 hospital admissions continue to be stable.

Evanston Responds: Facilities and Fleet Management
Evanston Facilities and Fleet Management staff have used their skills and expertise to support the City’s response to COVID-19, modifying City facilities with protective measures to allow them to continue to operate safely, acquiring personal protective equipment (PPE) for employees and community organizations, building out temporary housing, and much more. Emergency Food Pantry, September 30
The City’s Emergency Food Pantry at James Park will be open on Wed., Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., to support those economically impacted by COVID-19. Need assistance? Register for the pantry by Mon., Sept. 28 at 5 p.m. Donate to support the pantry.
IDPH COVID-19 Youth Conversation
Youth and young adults are invited to join IDPH Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike for a COVID-19 Conversation on Sat., Sept. 26, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Watch live on Twitter or Facebook.

Wheel tax deadline coming up!
As a reminder, you can pay for your 2021 wheel tax, residential parking permits, and residential parking passes conveniently online. 2021 wheel tax payments are due September 30.
Watering reminder: Keep trees healthy during dry weather
Following a dry summer, Evanston's Forestry Division reminds residents to water trees on their property and in the parkway. Use a soaker hose or water at a slow trickle on all sides of the tree to ensure water soaks deep into the soil. Watering is especially important for newly planted trees.
Construction alert: NU lakefront pathway closure
Next week, Northwestern Facilities will start work to provide interim protection to the lakefront. For safety, the pathway between Martin Field and Regenstein Bridge will be closed throughout the project. Weather permitting, major construction activities are expected to be complete by late December.

Assistance available for tenants and landlords
The City has contracted with the Metropolitan Tenants Organization (MTO) to assist residents and landlords who need help with landlord-tenant issues. MTO is also partnering with Lawyers Committee for Better Housing to provide free legal consultation services to low-income tenants facing eviction and other housing issues.
