Evanston Police Investigate Early Morning Shooting
EVANSTON, IL - On Saturday, July 25, 2020 at approximately 12:15 A.M. the Evanston Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting that a person was shot at a residence in the 2200 block of Emerson St.
Upon arrival, police officers located a 21 year old male who had been shot in the arm and chest. First responders provided life saving measures and the victim was transported to NorthShore University HealthSystem Evanston Hospital but was pronounced deceased. The incident is being investigated by both Evanston Police Detectives and members of The North Regional Major Crimes Task Force (NORTAF). The victim has since been identified as Deashawn Turner of Evanston.
Preliminarily, investigators are following up on a male in his 20’s wearing light colored clothing that fled on foot. At this time, no suspects are in custody.
