Courtney Reed-Tanner of the EPL Loft has been leading a Virtual Bike Camp this summer.
While it may be more challenging to run traditional summer camps this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, program leaders from the Library’s teen space, The Loft, have found new ways to connect with youth. The Library continues to offer a wide variety of summer programming for teens. The new virtual summer lineup features activities including arts and crafts, music and movie groups, game nights, and even a virtual cycling club. Read more.

The Robert Crown Library Branch will reopen on August 1 at 10 am. Read about all that is available at the brand new Robert Crown Library Branch and how we're working to keep the community and staff members safe.
Coming later in August: the Main Library will open for more services like access to and browsing of Library collections, pickup of holds, and checkout of materials.
Library Awarded Grant for Video Series
Evanston Public Library has been awarded a RAILS (Reaching Across Illinois Library System) "My Library Is ..." grant to assist in developing a video series to directly appeal to underrepresented members of the Evanston community. The idea was generated by the Library's Racial Equity Task Force. Through this new video series, the Library plans to increase its visibility among historically marginalized communities and raise awareness of Library resources. Read more.

An Evanstonian of two decades, Kim Erwin is the author of the book Communicating the New: Methods to Shape and Accelerate Innovation. She is currently working with the Emergency Design Collective, a nationwide volunteer network of doctors and designers addressing COVID challenges, and the National Academy of Medicine measuring community engagement.
