- The new Robert Crown Library Branch will reopen on August 1 at 10 am. The hours are: Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm; Sunday, noon to 6 pm, and Monday, 2 pm to 8 pm. Books can be returned at the indoor bookdrop there during the Library's open hours. Get all the details.

Coming later in August: the Main Library will open for more services like access to and browsing of Library collections, pickup of holds, and checkout of materials. We're working hard to ensure that we'll all stay safe using the space together. The bookdrop at the Main Library is now open 24 hrs. a day.

On July 26, 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) into law -- 2020 marks its 30th anniversary. It is the most fundamental law protecting the civil rights of people who are impacted by disability.
Ms. Louise has compiled a list of our favorite books that center on kids with different abilities. Don't miss out on these great books for all ages! For even more recommendations, check out the Schneider Family Book Award, launched in 2004, which celebrates and focuses on the perspective of kids with different abilities.
Here are 6 tips on how to talk about disability with your kids.
Looking for a way to get help or get involved? Two Evanston-based organizations work to make things better for our children who have different abilities: Have Dreams, "helping autistic voices emerge," and Evanston CASE, providing "community, advocacy, support and education for families affected by special needs."
We are grateful for the perspectives, support, and requests of Evanstonians with disabilities as we learn new and better ways to be equitable and inclusive.
