City Partners with AMITA Health St. Francis Hospital to Provide COVID-19 Community Testing Event, July 20

EVANSTON, IL - The City of Evanston’s Health and Human Services Department is again partnering with AMITA Health St. Francis Hospital to offer a COVID-19 health screening and testing event to Evanston residents who may not otherwise have access to testing or online virtual health visits.

Community testing will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis at the Evanston Township High School parking lot located north of Lake Street and east of Dodge Avenue on Monday, July 20, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., while supplies last. Community members should enter the testing line from northbound Dodge Avenue. Testing will be offered in a drive-through format; however, walk-ins will also be accepted. No appointment is needed to participate in this event. 

Testing will be provided free of charge for those without health insurance. Those with health insurance should bring their insurance card or provide the name of their insurance provider for billing. AMITA will bill the primary insurance on file; there will be no out of pocket cost to participants. 

A doctor will be on site to answer questions, and Spanish-speaking team members will be available to assist, as needed. Participants in need will be provided with a face covering upon arrival, and should maintain a physical distance of at least six feet from non-family members at the event.

Test results are expected to be available within four days of testing. AMITA Health St. Francis Hospital will follow up with all who are tested to provide results, whether positive or negative, and additional education and instructions, as needed.

In addition to these community testing events, residents can access free testing at State community-based testing sites. Testing may also be provided through a resident's primary healthcare provider.

El Departamento de Salud y Servicios Humanos de la Ciudad de Evanston se está asociando nuevamente con el Hospital AMITA Health St. Francis para ofrecer un evento de detección y pruebas de COVID-19 a los residentes de Evanston que de otro modo no tendrían acceso a pruebas o visitas virtuales de salud en línea.
