I hope that everyone is having the best summer that you can under the circumstances. We are going to get through this. There will be a public search for our next City Manager. The City has contracted with a search firm and I would like them to hear your input on what qualities you would like to see in candidates. I've set a virtual ward meeting for Mon., June 29 at 7 p.m. Join via Google Meet or join via phone at 219-316-1665 (PIN: 969957173#). If you cannot participate, but have feedback to share please email me at tsuffredin@cityofevanston.org.
I would also like to have a separate meeting on Tues., July 21 to discuss police issues. The City Council is going to have an in-depth discussion on Mon., July 27 and we should have a thorough discussion before that meeting.
Sinobia Aiden, Maia Robinson, Liana Wallace, Julia Shoaf, Phoebe Liccardo, Mollie Hartenstein, Amalia Loiseau and Nia Williams addressed the City Council on June 8. Their unedited message from that meeting is included here. Also included unedited is an official statement that was emailed to council members on June 18. Please take the time to read and let me know your thoughts.

COVID-19 community-based testing available
The State of Illinois has opened its COVID-19 community-based testing sites to all people, regardless of symptoms.
If you've been part of a recent mass gathering, such as a march or rally, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) recommends that you get tested five to seven days after the event, or immediately if symptoms develop.
No appointment, doctor referral, or insurance is needed at state-operated drive-thru sites, and testing is available at no cost to the individual.
The City is partnering with AMITA Health Saint Francis Hospital Evanston to provide two COVID-19 community testing events for residents who may not otherwise have access to testing on Mon., June 22 and Mon., June 29, at James Park.
Help us determine COVID-19 community needs
We're interested in hearing from individuals and organizations to determine how to best address community needs brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Please complete the following survey(s) if you'd like to provide feedback.
