Dear Levy Senior Center members, patrons, and Evanston residents,
The Levy Senior Center is committed to the health and safety of all those who utilize our services. Therefore, we are planning a phased reopening of the Levy Senior Center and a phased renewal of programs and services. We are following and will continue to follow recommendations issued by the Evanston Health Department, Illinois Department on Aging, CDC and Illinois Department of Public Health. After a great deal of thought and consideration, we have reached the difficult decision to postpone the reopening of the Levy Senior Center to the end of summer. We tentatively plan to fully reopen on Mon., August 31, 2020, at 7 a.m. pending guidance from the above listed agencies. The health and safety of our participants weighed heavily in this decision.
While the Levy Senior Center is not available for indoor senior programming this summer, our staff is committed to continuing to provide virtual programs, activities and discussion groups, as well as some possible outdoor programs and activities to help combat isolation. More information about the phased reopening of the Levy Senior Center will be sent soon.
