State community-based COVID-19 testing sites now open to all, regardless of symptoms
Those who have participated in recent mass gatherings are encouraged to get tested
 The State of Illinois has opened its COVID-19 community-based testing sites to all people, regardless of symptoms.
No appointment, doctor referral, or insurance is needed at state-operated drive-thru sites, and testing is available at no cost to individuals. The closest community-based testing sites to Evanston include:
Harwood Heights
6959 W. Forest Preserve Rd., Chicago
7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Rolling Meadows High School
2901 Central Rd., Rolling Meadows
8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Waukegan
102 W. Water Street, Waukegan
8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All locations are open daily while supplies last.
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) recommends that those who have participated in a recent mass gathering, such as a march or rally, get tested 5 to 7 days after the event, or immediately if symptoms develop.
Evanston-area healthcare providers, including Erie Family Health Centers, AMITA Health, and NorthShore University HealthSystem, also provide COVID-19 testing. Residents should contact their healthcare provider for testing guidelines and requirements, and to schedule an appointment.
The City is working with local healthcare partners to establish additional COVID-19 testing sites in Evanston.
