The latest COVID-19 data from IDPH
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, Illinois and Evanston are on track to move to Phase 3 of Governor Pritzker's Restore Illinois plan by May 29, which would allow more businesses to reopen with strict safety precautions and permit gatherings of up to ten people.
Keep up the good work. Help Evanston and Illinois continue to "flatten the curve" by doing your part to protect the health and safety of yourself and others. This includes staying home except for when completing essential business, practicing physical distancing, wearing a face covering in public settings where physical distancing is impractical, and washing hands frequently.
Holiday reminder. With Memorial Day coming up, please remember that the Governor's Stay at Home Order does not allow for gatherings with those outside of your household.
Open streets. The City is exploring options for closing sections of streets to vehicular traffic during certain hours to create more dedicated space for walking, biking, outdoor dining and other activities.
Beach status update
Evanston beaches are currently closed for swimming, and are tentatively scheduled to reopen in July. Beach tokens will not be available for purchase until opening plans are finalized. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
Memorial Day holiday schedule
The City has announced service changes for the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
Refuse collection reminder. No collections will occur on Mon., May 25. Monday through Thursday trash, food and yard waste, and recycling collections will occur one day later in the week than normal. Friday condo recycling collections will occur on Fri., May 29.

Help 'reCOVERevanston'
We're all eager to get back to life as normal, but this can't happen without everyone's commitment to keeping each other healthy and safe by wearing a face covering when working in or patronizing essential businesses. Look for posters from our "reCOVERevanston" campaign in store windows and check out our video montage of residents and business owners wearing face coverings! Thank you to all those who submitted photos.
