Tracing and preventing the spread of COVID-19
Watch our "Evanston Responds" video to learn about the Health and Human Services Department's contact tracing process and why it helps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
What is contact tracing?Contact tracing is a public health process that involves identifying individuals who have been in close contact with a person who is suspected to have or confirmed to have an infection while they were contagious. Contacts are then warned about their possible exposure, educated about their risks, and asked to quarantine and monitor their symptoms for 14 days.
Coronavirus Q&A in Spanish
Tune in tomorrow, Fri., May 1, at 1 p.m., for a live Coronavirus Q&A where Erie Family Health Centers physician, Dr. Shirley Cueva, will answer residents' COVID-19 health questions in Spanish. Submit your COVID-19 questions!
How do I join? The session will be live streamed on the City's Facebook page and Channel 16. This program will be presented entirely in Spanish.

Downtown Evanston Farmers’ Market Kickoff on Saturday
The Downtown Evanston Farmers’ Market will kick off its 45th season this Sat., May 2 at University Place and Oak Avenue! Shoppers can enjoy the market every Saturday through November 7, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
New Guidelines: Farmers’ markets are considered to be essential businesses. To ensure the health and safety of shoppers, vendors and staff, strict guidelines will be followed at the market during the COVID-19 pandemic. The City will also implement important operational changes.

How do I find a face covering?
The City has issued an Order requiring everyone to wear a cloth face covering when working in or patronizing essential businesses. For those who don't have access to a face covering, there are several ways to comply with this Order.
It's not too late to fill out your 2020 Census!
It’s not too late to respond to the 2020 Census while staying safe at home. Once you've responded, encourage your family, friends and loved ones to complete the census, too! Households that received a census invitation in the mail and haven't responded yet will receive a paper questionnaire in the mail by the end of the day today.

The Greater Chicago Food Depository's Producemobile will distribute free shelf-stable food and fresh fruits and vegetables in Evanston on Tues., May 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Levy Senior Center.
