The Evanston Police Department announces St. Patrick's Day 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' enforcement results
 Evanston, IL – The Evanston Police Department today announced it made 1 felony DUI arrest and issued 61 seat-belt citations during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period. Additional enforcement included failure to secure a child (2), cell phone (31), speeding (18), suspended driver's license (1), no insurance (11), open alcohol (2), and cannabis (1), among other citations (14) and a vehicle seizure (1).
“We strongly enforce impaired driving,” said Sergeant Tracy Williams. “This St. Patrick's Day we removed a third-time DUI offender from the streets of Evanston.”
The Evanston Police Department joined forces with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners for the St. Patrick’s Day campaign.
The law enforcement effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
