Renovations at Harbert Park to begin in March
Over the next five months the City of Evanston will be contracting renovations at Harbert Park, located east of the North Shore Channel, between Main Street and Dempster Street. The project will include new playground equipment, a new basketball court, upgraded LED lighting, new site furnishings, a new picnic gazebo, and bike path/drainage improvements in select areas.
This project is anticipated to begin in March and to be completed in July. During construction, the playground and adjacent picnic area will be closed to the public. All other areas of the park will remain open, with the exception of areas where construction work is actively occurring. Limited parking restrictions on adjacent roadways may be required during portions of this project to accommodate utility work. These restrictions are expected to be short duration activities and temporary “NO PARKING” signs will be posted 48 hours in advance.
Contractor
The general contractor for this project is Hacienda Landscaping located at 17840 Grove Rd., Minooka, IL 60447.
