Cultural Fund Grants

Dear Evanston Artists and Arts Organizations,

The Evanston Arts Council is pleased to announce the 2020-2021 Cultural Fund Grant application will be available on the City of Evanston’s web site cityofevanston.org/culturalfund starting February 1, 2020 through April 1, 2020. Through this grant program, we look to sustain and advance our community’s arts initiatives, continuing to nurture arts programs and events that benefit all Evanstonians.

In 2020 the Arts Council will give out $30,000 in Cultural Fund Grants to arts organizations. These grants provide up to $5,000 in funding and fall into two categories: General Operating Support and Special Programs and Projects for specific endeavors. Please be sure to review specific guidelines to determine eligibility.

On Wednesday, February 19, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Thursday, February 27, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., the Arts Council will host optional grant workshops at the Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge, Room 2402 and 2404 respectively. At this time we will provide an overview of the grant application process and answer questions and provide guidance. All applications must be filed online by the April 1, 2020 deadline. Please remember, all applicants must be registered non-profit organizations.

In 2020, the Arts Council will also give out $15,000 in grants through the newly branded Neighborhood Arts Grant (previously known as the Community Support Fund). The Neighborhood Arts Grant limits grants to $1,000 per request. Please visit the Evanston Arts Funding Resources page on the city’s website to view the guidelines and application process for a Neighborhood Arts Grant cityofevanston.org/artsfunding. We are always happy to discuss your project prior to submission to provide direction.

The Arts Council strongly encourages the development of broader participation by Evanston’s diverse cultural community through collaborative efforts among artists, arts organizations, and the greater community. It is our hope that you will continue to bring us inspired projects that express who you are as artists and arts organizations, because you help make Evanston the dynamic and rich arts community it is.

Sincerely,
Evanston Arts Council
