With the new year underway, we have our resolutions set and we're ready to get to work! Read on for information about summer camp registration, the spring Citizen Police Academy, MLK Jr. Day celebrations and more.
 Summer camp registration is around the corner
It's only January, but it's already time to start thinking about summer camps! The 2020 Summer Camp Guide is now available online and at Evanston community centers.
Registration info: Evanston residents can register on Sat., Feb. 1, 8 a.m. to noon, online or in-person at the Levy Senior Center.

Get an inside look at the Evanston Police Department
Applications are now being accepted for the spring 2020 Citizen Police Academy. The program meets on Wednesday evenings, 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., from February 26 through May 20.
 Celebrate MLK Jr. Day with community events
Attend the “Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Celebration and Evanston Unity" on Sun., Jan. 19 at the newly renovated Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. This community celebration promises to be inspiring and entertaining, as it will honor Dr. King's legacy through musical performances and speeches.
More ways to celebrate: Enjoy drop-in crafts and film screenings at the Evanston Public Library, Y.O.U.'s Diverse Communities United, Northwestern University's candlelight vigil, and more.

Renovations are complete at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center!
Celebrate the New Year and check out the updated facility on Sat., Jan. 11. Enjoy a ribbon cutting at 3 p.m. followed by an afternoon of games, food, music and demonstrations highlighting new program offerings.
