Do-it-Yourself With Help Computer Repair
If in the New Year or as a general principle you are planning on going green (or greener), consider fixing your computer yourself. Instead of throwing away your broken laptops or other computers or paying exorbitant prices to get them fixed, learn how to fix and maintain them with a little help from an expert at the Library.
Just bring in your laptop or desktop computer to the Library on a Sunday between 2 and 4 pm, beginning February 2 through May 24. No reservation is required nor are fees charged. An expert will be on hand in the small meeting room on the first floor to help you learn how to repair your software or hardware issues or suggest other remedies if the problem is more difficult. Patrons should bring their AC adapters or power cords for their computers or laptops with them.
Participate in Computer Fixings: A Do-It-Yourself with Help workshop on Sundays, beginning February 2, between 2 and 4 pm in the Small Meeting Room on the first floor of the Main Library, 1703 Orrington. Registration is not required.
About the Evanston Public Library
For more than 140 years, the Library has provided educational, culturally-rich
resources for all residents, helped children prepare for school through
the joys of reading and learning, celebrated Evanston’s diversity, and
helped residents find information they seek. The Library is more than a
building of books; it is a place to meet, connect, learn and explore. To learn more, visit www.epl.org.
