Evanston Police Charge a Chicago Man with Armed Robbery
 EVANSTON, IL - On November 19, at approximately 4:00 a.m. Evanston Police responded to a robbery in the 700 block of Howard St. Officers located the victim of the robbery, a 52 year old male resident of Chicago. The victim stated that he was approached by the suspect, later learned to be Reimundo Atempa-Hernandez, in the area of the 700 block of Howard St. Atempa-Hernandez asked the victim for 20 dollars. The victim stated that he did not have any money. Atempa-Hernandez approached the victim a second time in the 700 block of Howard, displayed a knife, and stated "Give me all you got". The victim then gave Atempa-Hernandez a pair of gloves, six CDs, a pair of black headphones, and an Android cellphone. The offender then fled south on foot.
A description of the offender was provided to assist officers searching the area. At approximately 4:32 a.m. an assist officer located the offender, Atempa-Hernandez, attempting to commit another robbery in the 2000 block of Howard St. Chicago. The assist officer was able to stop the robbery and detain the offender.
Evanston Officers continued the investigation. The victim identified Atempa-Hernandez as the offender that robbed him. Proceeds from the robbery as well as a knife were recovered from the offender. Atempa-Hernandez was arrested, transported to the Evanston Police Department, and charged with Armed Robbery.
The investigation into the second robbery that was interrupted by an assisting officer was turned over to the Chicago Police Department.

Bond and Court Information
Atempa-Hernandez is being held in Cook County Jail with no bond. His next court date is November 26, at the Skokie Courthouse.
