 Halloween happenings in Evanston
Get in the spooky spirit at Halloween events throughout Evanston, including Trunk or Treat, Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market Fall Fest, Zombie Scramble, and more! As a heads up, trick-or-treating will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on October 31.
Celebrate the Day of the Dead
Come out for Dia de los Muertos at the Levy Senior Center on Sunday. Enjoy live entertainment from the Sones de Mexico Ensemble, interactive art stations, and Mexican food and drinks available for purchase!
 Robert Crown Library Branch 100-Day Countdown Celebration
Let the countdown begin! Join the Evanston Public Library on Saturday for live music, storytelling, crafts, henna painting, and more as they celebrate 100 days until the opening of the new Robert Crown Branch Library.
Your input needed: Artist Blessing Hancock is seeking public input on words that should be included in the design of her art installation for the new Robert Crown Community Center.
 Get to know the Proposed City Budget
What you should know: The City published its 2020-21 Proposed Budget on October 4. Visit the City's open data portal for a breakdown of the numbers.
Get involved: The City will hold a Special City Council Budget meeting on Saturday, which will include a public hearing on the proposed budget.

2020 Artists Fellowship Program
The Illinois Arts Council Agency is accepting applications for the 2020 Artists Fellowship Program, which supports artists with a limited number of $15,000 awards. Apply by October 31.

A happy ending
 Officer Pounds saves the day! Earlier this month, Officer Pounds of the Evanston Police Department helped save an injured pelican found on a beach in Evanston. After receiving rehab at the Willowbrook Wildlife Center, the pelican has healed and been returned to the wild.
