Evanston Man Charged with Unlawful Use of Weapon by a Felon

EVANSTON, IL - On July 31, 2019, at 7:15 p.m. members of the Evanston Police Department's Special Operations Group executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1800 block of Lake Street. Once the residence was secure detectives of the Special Operations Group conducted a search. The search led to the recovery of a pistol magazine loaded with 15 rounds of 9 mm ammunition. There was a plastic baggie recovered that contained an additional three rounds of 9 mm ammunition.

The investigation established that Andre Laden, a convicted felon, was in possession of the 18 rounds of 9 mm ammunition. Laden was arrested and transported to the station. Detectives interviewed Laden who stated the ammunition was left at his residence by an acquaintance. Laden did not have a Firearm's Owner Identification Card. Laden was charged with possessing the ammunition.

1 misdemeanor count of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition without a FOID Card

Bond Information and Court Date

Laden received a 25000 I-Bond. His next court date is August 15 at 1:30 p.m. at the Skokie Courthouse.
