Evanston Police Explorer Standout Ready for Next Chapter

EVANSTON, IL - The Evanston Police Department would like to congratulate and highlight one of our Police Explorers, Jennifer Becerra.  Jennifer is one of founding members of Evanston Police Department Explorer Post 1863 and has been a dedicated and responsible post member, and even served as a post captain.  In June 2019 she graduated from Evanston Township High School with a 3.84 GPA making her a part of the “High Distinction” category at ETHS. She received the Wyn Academic Scholarship and made honor roll all 4 years at ETHS.  She has a deep passion for giving back to the community and volunteers at her church.  In her time at ETHS she was student ambassador, member of Latino Quest, and a Wrestling Manger.

This fall Jennifer will be attending Lake Forest College majoring in Business.  Jennifer was recently hired as a part-time Community Service Officer with Lake Forest Police Department, which was an opportunity that arose from her involvement with the Explorers.

Jennifer states, “The Evanston Police Department Explorers program has really given me a different perspective of Law Enforcement. I have gained a lot of knowledge through hands on activities and even made some good friends and important connections. I feel fortunate to be part of the Explorers program as it has been a comfortable and fun space for me to be able to explore my interest in Law Enforcement. In the future, I hope to give back to my Evanston community as a Police Officer, as this has always been my dream.”

We would like to congratulate Jennifer on all her accomplishments and look forward to seeing her excel in her goals. Congratulations Jennifer and thank you for all your contributions to the Evanston Community and to the Explorers.
