Evanston Police Investigate Bank Robbery
EVANSTON, IL - On June 20, 2019, at 10:33 a.m. Evanston Police responded to Wells Fargo Bank located in the 2200 block of Howard Street for a robbery that had just occurred. Officers and detectives responded to investigate.
Once on scene detectives learned that the offender approached a teller station and presented a note to two tellers. The note announced the bank robbery and that the offender was armed. A weapon was not seen or displayed. The tellers then gave the offender an amount of United States Currency. The offender then fled the bank on foot with the currency and was last seen west bound towards McCormick Ave. No one was injured in this incident.
The description of the offenders is as follows:
- Male
- African American or Hispanic
- Slim build
- 5'4"-5'7"
- Wearing a black Nike hat and wearing blue shirt over a red shirt
The Evanston Police Detective Bureau and FBI are investigating. Additional details about the robbery are not being released at this time.
