Summer Youth Food Program Begins Monday
Free cold breakfasts and lunches will be available to youth ages 1 to 18 years old at eight locations throughout Evanston as part of the Summer Food Program, June 10 through August 16. Free meals are available to all youth, but meals must be eaten on site and parents must accompany young children.
Starlight Concert Series
Enjoy nine free outdoor concerts in Evanston parks on Tuesdays through July 30, as part of the Starlight Concert Series. Interactive family activities will begin at 6 p.m.; music begins at 7 p.m.
Evanston Beaches Are Now Open
Evanston beaches are now open for the 2019 season. Beach tokens are available at a discounted rate of $26 for Evanston and Skokie residents through June 7 at the Morton Civic Center, Evanston community centers,and the Dempster Street Beach Office.
City Launches Sustainable Business Recognition Program
Evanston businesses that take actions to reduce their environmental impact can receive support from the City as well as recognition for their efforts as part of Sustain Evanston, a new sustainable business recognition program.
Social Services Meeting June 8
The City invites community members to provide their input on social services programs offered by the City at an upcoming community meeting on Sat., June 8, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Levy Senior Center.
'The Last Black Man in San Francisco' Screening
The Block Museum of Art is inviting the community to join them for a free advanced screening of "The Last Black Man in San Francisco" on Tues., June 11, 7 p.m., at 40 Arts Circle Drive, Evanston.

'The Mountaintop' Opens June 15

Evanston Garden Walk June 23
Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the annual Evanston Garden Walk. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through 10 contrasting gardens, come rain or shine. 2019 Evanston 4th of July Activities
The Evanston 4th of July Association and the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department invite you to save the date for the 4th of July all-daycelebration! The fun begins at 9 a.m. at eight playground sites throughout the city providing games and activities for all ages, followed by a Fun Run along Central Street at 12:45 p.m. The parade down Central Street kicks off at 2 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., there will be a concert at the lakefront, and then the grand fireworks display at dusk. Evanston Recycles July 6
There will be a free recycling event on Sat., July 6, 9 a.m. to noon, at ETHS, 1600 Dodge Ave. Evanston Recycles is a free, "drive up, drop off" event that allows you to recycle a variety of unwanted items without ever needing to leave your car! Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market
Enjoy the Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market at the corner of University Place and Oak Avenue every Saturday, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.! As many as 58 Midwest vendors sell fruits, vegetables, meat, flowers, cheese, eggs, baked goods and more. In addition, there will be “Home Grown Art ” and food demos/tastings. LINK cards are accepted, and free parking is available at the adjacent Maple Ave. Garage with validation at City tent.
Evanston residents age 16 or older who are cardholders of the Evanston Public Library can “Borrow the Internet” through a Wi-Fi Hotspot lending program. Wi-Fi Hotspots are small, portable devices that let patrons bring free internet service into their homes or wherever service is desired, for up to four weeks at a time.

Free STI Testing
The Health and Human Services Department has partnered with Howard Brown Health to provide free community HIV and sexually transmitted infection screenings in Evanston. Screenings are offered at the Evanston Public Library in the Small Community Room(first floor), 1703 Orrington Ave., from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the second Monday of the month. No appointment is required.
