Evanston Police Citizen Police Academy Class 49 Graduates

CPA Class 49

EVANSTON, IL - On May 22, 2019 the Evanston Police Department proudly graduated its 49th Class of the Evanston Police Department Citizen Police Academy. The 25 graduates dedicated their Wednesday nights for 13 weeks to sit with, listen to, and learn from members of the Evanston Police Department, City of Evanston, and Cook County States Attorney’s Office.  Each week covered a variety of topics that included patrol operations, peer support, the court system, investigations plus many more.  Participants had the opportunity to engage in activities such as a mock crime scene, defensive tactics, and a shoot/don’t shoot decision making exercise. Also included in their 13 weeks was a ride along with an officer, and a sit along in our 911 center.

We are very proud and excited to continue this nearly 25 year relationship with our community and are grateful for all the citizens that take time from their busy lives to participate in the program. The class gives our officers the opportunity to learn as well and build long lasting relationships with community members.

Class 49 now joins the group of over 1200 Citizen Police Academy Alumni.
