EVANSTON, IL - The Evanston Police Department will be hosting its Annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. The ceremony will be held in the Council Chambers at the Lorraine Morton Civic Center located at 2100 Ridge Ave.

Officers will be receiving awards from the over 40 nominations made in 2018. The nominations were stemming from a wide array of police work including emergency responses, long term investigations and community engagement efforts.

This year's EPD Officer of the Year Award recipient is Officer Julie Triggs-Redmond. Officer Triggs-Redmond has been a member of the Evanston Police Department for over three years and she is being recognized for her undercover work in the department's Operation Snap Attack. Officer Triggs-Redmond took on inherent risk when she made 62 undercover narcotics purchases from 26 separate offenders. Officer Triggs-Redmond's undercover work has suppressed drug sales and negatively impacted the operations of street gangs that operate in the Evanston and the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago.

Officer Triggs-Redmond will receive the Kiwanis Club of Evanston's Distinguished Service Award on May 14, 2019.

All are invited to come recognize the fine work done by all of the recipients.  The event will also be live on the department's Facebook page.
