Evanston Man Charged with Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer after Ramming an Evanston Police Car and Injuring Two Officers

EVANSTON, IL - On January 11, 2019, at 6:51 p.m. detectives from the Evanston Police Tactical Unit were in the area of the 400 block of Howard when they observed a white Chevy Malibu with illegal window tint. Detectives stopped the vehicle and the driver, Justin Neal-Guy.

Detectives made contact with Neal-Guy and investigated the window tint violation. It was confirmed that the window tint was not compliant with state law. Detectives and assisting officers also detected a strong odor of cannabis coming from inside the vehicle. 

Detectives informed Neal-Guy about the odor of cannabis coming from his vehicle and instructed him to exit the vehicle so they could investigate. Neal-Guy refused to exit the vehicle. Neal-Guy put his car in reverse and rammed the Evanston Police Care parked behind him. Neal-Guy then fled the stop. There was a short pursuit that was terminated prior to Neal-Guy being apprehended. Two officers suffered minor injuries in the incident.

On January 14, 2019, at 12:00 p.m. Neal-Guy was arrested reference this incident with the assistance of Chicago Police Department in the 120000 block of South Parnell Ave Chicago, IL. Neal-Guy was transported back to the Evanston Police Department where he was charged.
