Want to Learn More About Your Police Department? You are in Luck! Evanston Police are Accepting Applications for the Citizen Police Academy

EVANSTON, IL - Have you ever wanted to learn more about how the police department works?  Perhaps you are interested in a career in law enforcement? Or maybe you would just like to be more civically engaged. 

If any of these situations apply to you, you’re in luck! Applications are currently being accepted for the Evanston Police Department Citizen Police Academy Spring Session. This interactive program is facilitated by Evanston officers and covers a wide range of topics relating to the Evanston Police Department. The program gives participants a closer look at the Evanston Police Department and policing as it relates to Evanston. Many topics are covered including crime investigation, traffic procedures, investigative tactics plus much more. The program lasts 13 weeks, and meets Wednesday evenings 7 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. The spring session dates are: February 27 – May 22, 2019

The program is completely free and open to those that live and/or work in Evanston. The application along with more details can be found on the City of Evanston website by clicking here.
