Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Trip: Information Meetings January 14

Hot air balloons

Trip Dates: October 11, 2019 – October 17, 2019

Dazzling during the day, the spectacle of hundreds of hot air balloons is even better when they light up at dawn and dusk. See these amazing displays, plus explore early Pueblo life and the artists of Santa Fe. Join the Levy Center as we travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico for the annual Balloon Fiesta. We'll visit Peco’s Historic Park, Santa Fe, Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Pueblo Cultural Center, San Miguel Mission and Loretto Chapel. This six-day guided tour will include roundtrip airfare, airport transfers, eight meals, and lodging for $2,671 twin/$3,360 single. The trip will include traveler’s protection plan insurance for incidentals.

We'll host an information meeting with our tour guide, Mayflower Tours, on Monday, January 14 at 1 p.m. and at 6 p.m. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the trip before making any commitments. Bollywood Dance Therapy January 17

Ever wanted to try to Bollywood dance? Here's your chance! This program is the perfect dance program and physical therapy for seniors. Bollywood dance improves gait, balance and walking speed. This one-time class will be fun and interactive. Join us on Thursday, January 17, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $7 for Levy members and $12 for nonmembers. Fran Randall Concert January 18

Enjoy a Fran Randall Concert on Friday, January 18, at 1:30 p.m. Tom Hicks has gained first prize in competitions including the Wales International Piano Competition, the Croydon Piano Concerto Competition, and the EPTA UK Piano Competition. He has appeared as a concerto soloist over 30 times and has been hailed as an artist of "magnificent pianism." Also performing is Audrey Lidke, a classically trained trumpet player and graduate of the DePaul School of Music. Audrey uses her unique skills to create new twists on well-known tunes, incorporating her rich sound on the horn.

This is a free program; no registration is required. The Fran Randall Music Series is sponsored by the Levy Senior Center Foundation.


Origami for Adults and Seniors January 19

Have you ever wanted to give origami a try? Here's your chance. Origami is the ancient art of Japanese paper folding. All you need is a piece of paper and some focused thought and the results will be enjoyed immediately. Origami has been shown to aid in relaxation, concentration, hand-eye coordination and memory.

On Saturday, January 19, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., join origami expert Robert Smith as he teaches how to fold your favorite creation. All you need to bring is your imagination. Space is limited.
