City, NU Announce Good Neighbor Fund Allocation

Support for Evanston Fire Department paramedic services, job training and library programs are among the services and projects that will be funded by this year’s $1 million donation from Northwestern University to the City's Good Neighbor Fund, Mayor Hagerty and Northwestern President Schapiro announced this week.

Holiday Service Schedule Announced

New Year's decorations


The Morton Civic Center will be closed on Mon., Dec. 24 and Tues., Dec. 25. No trash or recycling collections will occur on these days. Monday through Thursday collections will be delayed by two days next week. Friday condo recycling collections will occur on Sat., Dec. 29.

Celebrate Kwanzaa in Evanston December 26

Join your friends and neighbors in celebrating the first day of Kwanzaa on Wed., Dec. 26, 6 p.m., at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center! The free event for all ages will include music, spoken word, and dancing. There will also be the traditional lighting of the Kinara and recitation of the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa.
