EVANSTON, IL - The Evanston Police Department is launching a new program, "Five-O" Fitness, in partnership with local gyms and fitness trainers. The aim of the program is to promote fitness and healthy diet through continued outreach between the Evanston Police Department and Evanston community. “Five-O" Fitness is modeled after the already established "Coffee with a Cop". However, this program will allow community members to interact with Evanston police officers in a fitness setting, as well as highlighting local gyms and fitness centers.

The first event will be held on Saturday, October 6th, 9:30-11:30 AM, at Centennial Park. Providing the 60 minute workout for the day will be Albert Ferguson, owner of The Fitness Matrix in Evanston. Ferguson specializes in strength conditioning and functional fitness. Healthy eating tips will also be provided at this event. Admission is $10, and you must be 18 years or older to participate. Don’t forget to bring a towel and water, as we plan to work up a good sweat with Evanston police officers and community members. Waivers must be signed prior to participation.
