City to Complete Survey Monument and Benchmark Update

Over the next four months, community members may notice crews checking existing survey monuments and benchmarks throughout the City and installing new monuments. These monuments, which are used by private and public contractors to obtain survey elevations in Evanston, are two-inch round metal caps installed in the parkway. Surveyors also will be collecting data on existing facilities and helping to update the City’s Geographic Information System (GIS) database with current survey information. The project is anticipated to begin the week of August 6 and be completed in November.

Consultant
The consultant for this project is American Surveying & Engineering, P.C., 150 North Wacker Dr., Suite 2650, Chicago.

City Monitoring
