Watch 'Moana' at Ryan Field August 2!

Starlight Movie at Ryan Field (NU Athletics)

Evanston’s 2018 Starlight Movies in the Park series begins on Thurs., Aug. 2 with Northwestern Athletics' special showing of Disney's "Moana" at Ryan Field! Gates will open at 6 p.m. for a 7 p.m. showing. Parking and admission are free.

Starlight Concert July 31 at Baker Park

Enjoy retro rock 'n' roll hits from the 1950s and 1960s along with current music with a retro twist at the summer's final Starlight Concert featuring Rosie and the Rivets! The concert will take place at Baker Park, located at Keeney Street and Forest Avenue, on Tues., July 31. Music begins at 7 p.m., with interactive family activities at 6 p.m.

Summer Sidewalk Sale this Weekend!

This Friday through Sunday, you’ll find great deals both inside and outside of your favorite local businesses as part of the Downtown Evanston and Main-Dempster Mile Sidewalk Sale! Shop local and enjoy sidewalk chalk art, live music, games, activities and more.

Save the Date: National Night Out August 7!

Take a public stance against crime by attending "National Night Out" celebration events throughout Evanston on Tues., Aug. 7! Events include a Starlight Movie at Penny Park, neighborhood gatherings, craft activities at the Evanston Public Library, and much more.

Evanston History Center Ice Cream Social this Saturday!

The Evanston History Center's annual family-friendly Ice Cream Social is this Sat., July 28, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Charles Gates Dawes House, 225 Greenwood St. Enjoy free ice cream, a magic show, live music, games and more!

Robert Crown Center Job Fair Today, 7/26

Union trade Evanston residents interested in working on the new Robert Crown Community Center, Ice Complex & Library as part of the City’s Local Employment Program should attend the job fair today, Thurs., July 26, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Morton Civic Center's Parasol Room (4th floor).

Northwestern University 'Run for Walk' 7/29

Northwestern University will host the annual Run for Walk this Sun., July 29 in honor of late Head Coach Randy Walker. Race day registration and packet pickup starts at 6 a.m. at Ryan Field and the run begins at 7:30 a.m.

Mayor Morton Documentary Screenings on Monday

Join Shorefront Legacy Center for a documentary project four years in the making: "Lorraine H. Morton: A Life Worthwhile." Screenings will take place on Mon., July 30 at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Morton Civic Center's Parasol Room (4th floor).

Final Weekend for FJT's 'Topdog/Underdog' 7/28-29

It's your last chance to see Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre's "Topdog/Underdog," by Suzan-Lori Parks. Performances will take place on Sat., July 28 at 7 p.m. and Sun., July 29 at 3 p.m. at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center.

Shakespeare on the Ridge Through 8/12
