Chicago Avenue Pavement Patching (Howard St. to South Blvd.) Set for Week of July 23

The City of Evanston will be patching large areas of asphalt pavement on Chicago Avenue beginning the week of July 23, 2018. The work is scheduled to be completed next week, weather permitting, as part of the 2018 Motor Fuel Tax Street Resurfacing Project.

During construction, motorists should expect minor delays near work zones as flaggers route traffic around the work crews. Two-way traffic will be maintained on Chicago Avenue during street grinding and asphalt patching operations. This project will entail removing the distressed top asphalt surface and replacing it with a fresh, smooth asphalt surface coarse material. Once the asphalt is laid, compacted, and cooled, the street will be opened and ready for traffic.

Contractor

The contractor for this street improvement project is J.A. Johnson Paving, 1025 E. Addison Court, Arlington Heights, IL 60005.
