Thinking About End-of-Life Options June 6

Learn about end-of-life options from Missy Fleming and Fay Clayton of Compassion and Choices on Wed., June 6, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Compassion and Choices is a nationwide organization working to improve patient rights and individual choice at the end of life. Admission is free but pre-registration is requested. Did you ever think you might want to play an instrument? How about the ukulele? Come and see what it's all about and be prepared to sing along! This event will be held at noon on Thurs., June 14. 


Secretary of State Super Senior Day June 15

Super Senior Day is a convenient and voluntary program for driver's license renewal, which includes a vision screening exam. A Secretary of State Mobile Driver Services Unit will be available for participants to renew their driver's licenses from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fri., June 15. An identification card can be obtained for $20. However, if you are age 65 years or older, you may obtain a free, non-expiring State of Illinois photo ID card. Drivers age 75 years and older are required to take a driving test to renew their driver's licenses and must visit a Secretary of State Driver Services facility.

Levy Lecture Series June 26

Dr. Albaugh


Back by popular demand, Dr. Jeffrey Albaugh will talk about "Improving Relationships and Intimacy" and the need for intimacy, companionship and love regardless of age. Dr. Albaugh will teach how to communicate better and to make the most of our most intimate relationships. There is no charge for this program but preregistration is required. Participation is limited to the first 100 signups. This event will be held at 1 p.m. on Tues., June 26.

'Who's Got Your Back?' June 28

Join a representative from the Center for Disability and Elder Law to learn more about powers of attorney for healthcare and property and living wills. This is a free program and will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thurs., June 28. No registration is required. 


Investment Perspectives June 28

Financial advisor Neil Gardner will visit the Levy Center on Thurs., June 28 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. to discuss timely market topics, investment strategies, and key retirement concerns. This month, the topic will be Healthcare and Your Retirement. This is a free program but pre-registration is requested. Please stop by the Levy Center front desk or call 847-448-8250. Levy Book Club is always looking for new members! The group meets once a month on the third Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Library Room of the Levy Center. Books are chosen largely based on recommendations of members.
