2018 Starlight Concert Series to Feature Eight Free Outdoor Performances in Evanston Parks
EVANSTON, ILLINOIS - Evanston's 2018 Starlight Concert Series will feature eight free outdoor concerts at park locations throughout the cityJune 5 through July 31. The series is presented by the City's Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department.
Starlight concerts will take place on Tuesdays from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Interactive family activities will occur before each concert from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The concert schedule is available at cityofevanston.org/starlight. There will be no concert on July 3.
In the event of inclement weather, concerts will take place at the Levy Senior Center, located at 300 Dodge Ave. Updates will be available after4:30 p.m.on the show date by calling 847-448-4311 (until7 p.m.) or by visiting cityofevanston.org/starlight.
The June 19 Starlight Concert at Twiggs Park will celebrate Juneteenth, a holiday commemorating the abolishment of slavery. The July 17 concert at Brummel Park will include a Food Truck Festival, with food trucks featuring a variety of food and dessert options on site beginning at 5:30 p.m. Food trucks will also be available at the Bent Park concert on June 26 beginning at 6 p.m.

Tuesday, June 26 - Food trucks on site at 6 p.m. Bent Park, Central Street at Cowper Avenue Tangleweed - Acoustic power trio playing original and traditional bluegrass, Americana, folk, Celtic and many other styles.
Tuesday, July 10 Canal Shores Golf Course, 1030 Central St. Afinca'o - A salsa group that feeds off the energy of the crowd and aims to keep the dance floor moving.
Tuesday, July 17 - Food Truck Festival starting at 5:30 p.m. Brummel Park, Brummel Street at Elmwood Avenue South Boulevard Band - Classic R&B and rockin’ soul tunes will energize your evening.
Tuesday, July 24 Mason Park, Church Street at Florence Avenue Tukkiman - A unique mix of Afro-beat, world, hip-hop, reggae and English pop, his style is powerful and knows no borders.
Tuesday, July 31 Baker Park, Keeney Street at Forest Avenue Rosie & The Rivets - The premier retro rock 'n' roll show performing hits from the 1950s and 1960s, along with current music with a retro twist.
