Spring Bulk Trash Pick-ups Began April 20
The City of Evanston's Public Works Agency offers residents the free removal of up to six cubic yards of bulk garbage twice per year. Spring 2018 bulk trash pick-ups will take place on Fridays,April 20 through May 11, and are scheduled according to residents' normal refuse pick-up day.

Enroll in the Private Elm Insurance Program
Enroll in the 2018 Private Elm Tree Insurance Program by Thurs., May 31! The program covers the removal of elm trees on private property lost due to Dutch elm Disease (DED).
Evanston Arts Council Calls for 'Pop-Up' Temporary Art by May 15
The Evanston Arts Council is issuing a call for artists to submit applications for “pop-up” temporary displays of artwork or performances of public art throughout Evanston during summer 2018. The Arts Council will provide three grants of up to $1,000 each for projects that must take place between June 10 and August 31, 2018.
In visual arts, preference may be given to work that has already been completed. Conceptual proposals will be considered if the artwork can be completed within the presented timeline, and applications are submitted with clear and detailed specifications and renderings.
Submissions must be emailed with attachments tojlasik@cityofevanston.orgby May 15, 2018. Applicants will be notified by June 1, 2018.
Apply for Affordable Housing Opportunities in Evanston
The City has partnered with Community Partners for Affordable Housing (CPAH) to manage its centralized waitlist for affordable units provided through the Inclusionary Housing Ordinance. Please complete the pre-application if you're interested.
'A Home on the Lake' On Stage through May 20
Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre and Piven Theatre Workshop present "A Home on the Lake," a play about two Evanston families in two eras whose lives are disrupted by matters of property and race.
Evanston Made 2018
Evanston Made is a community arts initiative that facilitates engagement between the public and Evanston creatives. Events throughout June 2018 will display works by Evanston creatives at artist studios, galleries and businesses.
