On March 27, the City's Forestry staff discovered that the two large Linden trees at the far southeast corner of Penny Park are in a serious state of decline. They found numerous dead limbs, severe die back in the tree's canopies, and signs of decay in the trunks of both trees. Unfortunately, these trees are too far gone and are now scheduled to be removed by Forestry staff as soon as the ground conditions permit their equipment to access the Park without damaging the grass. They hope to be able to access the Park within the next two weeks to complete this work.
