Evanston and Northwestern University Police responded to the incident.  The area and the building were secured.  The apartment number that was provided by the caller, the alleged scene, was entered and found to be vacant.   The building and area were thoroughly checked with no scene, victim, or gunman being located.  After approximately 2 hours it was determined to be a swatting incident and the area was declared secure.
