Free Winter Break Programs for Teens and Children
Enjoy a huge bounty of free, creative, and entertaining programs for teens and kids over winter break at Evanston Public Library. Some programs require registration while others are drop-ins. Registration is now open.
Grand Chanukah Lighting December 14
Tannenbaum Chabad House invites you to join Mayor Stephen Hagerty and Evanston's civic, business and Jewish communities to Evanston's Public Chanukah Lighting and Celebration.
A 10-foot Menorah will be lit at Church Street Plaza, Church St. at Maple Ave., at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2017.

AWE-SAUCE Hot Sauce is Coming!
Temperance Brewery, located at 2000 Dempster St. is hosting a new hot sauce release event on Fri. Dec.15 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Come out and taste all of the new hot sauce along with helping raise money for Family Focus Evanston.
Y.O.U. Family Wellness Day December 16
Y.O.U. invites you to Family Wellness Day on Sat., Dec.16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 1911 Church St. It is an opportunity for the whole family to relax, rejuvenate and spread the holiday cheer. There will be a hip-hop dance, cookie decorating, self-car DIY crafts, make your own granola parfait, Zumba, take home art project, raffle prizes, and free books. Enjoy "The Nutcracker on Ice" December 15 -17
"The Nutcracker on Ice," Robert Crown Community Center's beloved winter ice show, will celebrate its 43rd year entertaining families with four performances this holiday season! Show times are Fri., Dec. 15 at 7:30 p.m.; Sat., Dec. 16 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sun., Dec. 17 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $9 for general seating and $10 for reserved seating.
A Community Celebration of Kwanzaa December 26
Join your friends and neighbors in celebrating the first day of Kwanzaa on Dec. 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, located at 1655 Foster St., featuring music, spoken word and dancing. There will also be the traditional lighting of the Kinara and recitation of the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa. For more information call 847-866-5914.
