Enjoy Halloween Festivities in Evanston!

Happy Halloween! Official City of Evanston trick-or-treat hours are 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tues., Oct. 31. Get in the spirit at events throughout the city this weekend, including a costumed DJ Skate Night at the Robert Crown Center, Spooktacular Celebration at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center, Spooky Saturday in the Main-Dempster Mile business district, and many more.

Farmers' Market Fall Fest this Saturday

Come in costume and celebrate the fall bounty at the Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market's Fall Fest this Sat., Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to noon. The first 100 children under 12 years of age will get a free small pumpkin to decorate and take home. The Market will be open as usual from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Celebrate Dia de los Muertos on Sunday

This Sun., Oct. 29, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., stop by the Levy Center to celebrate Dia de los Muertos! The free event will feature a live puppet show from renowned storyteller and puppeteer Marilyn Price, a performance by Sones de Mexico Ensemble, and interactive arts stations where families can create ofrendas together. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Pay Your 2018 Wheel Tax Conveniently Online Beginning November 1

Beginning Wed., Nov. 1, residents may begin to pay for their City of Evanston wheel tax, residential parking permits, and residential parking passes for 2018. This Fri., Oct. 27, preprinted renewal notices will be mailed to residents with an online renewal ID and instructions. The deadline to pay the wheel tax is Sun., Dec. 31, 2017.

Sheridan Project Complete from Chicago to Lincoln

Construction on Sheridan Road, from Chicago Avenue to Lincoln Street, is now complete. All lanes have been reopened to traffic. Construction fencing will be removed by the end of the week.

Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre Wins Three BTA Awards

Evanston’s Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre (FJT) received three awards at the 23rd annual Black Theater Alliance/Ira Aldridge Awards presentation on Mon., Oct. 23 at Columbia College Chicago.

"It's the Great Pumpkin Compost" 11/4

Drop off your jack-o’-lanterns at the City's 2nd annual "It's the Great Pumpkin Compost" event! The free "drive up, drop off" event will take place Sat., Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon, in the parking lots of the Levy Center and Morton Civic Center.

3rd Ward Meeting 10/26

Ald. Melissa Wynne will host a 3rd Ward Town Hall meeting tonight, Thurs., Oct. 26., 7 p.m., at Lincoln Elementary School.

2nd/4th Ward Meeting 10/26

Ald. Peter Braithwaite and Ald. Donald Wilson will host a joint 2nd and 4th Ward meeting tonight, Thurs., Oct. 26, 7:30 p.m., at the Robert Crown Center.

6th/7th Ward Meeting 11/2

Ald. Thomas Suffredin and Ald. Eleanor Revelle will host a joint 6th and 7th Ward meeting on Thurs., Nov. 2, 7 p.m., at Three Crowns Park.

Additional Street Cleaning in November and December

The City’s Public Works Agency has announced additional street cleaning dates in November and December to help clear streets of leaves and other debris. Voluntary parking compliance is requested. View the schedule.

Dental Access Days at the Levy Center 11/3, 11/4

Community members in need can get access to free dental care during Dental Access Days on Fri., Nov. 3 and Sat., Nov. 4 at the Levy Center. Services will be dispensed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Robert Crown Center's Fall Flea Market 11/4

Hunt for great bargains at Robert Crown Center's Fall Flea Market on Sat., Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Anticipated sale items include sporting equipment, household goods, jewelry, books and more. Admission is free and open to the public.
