Halloween Trick or Treaters


Happy Halloween! Official City of Evanston trick-or-treat hours are 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tues., Oct. 31. Get in the spirit at events throughout the city this weekend, including a costumed DJ Skate Night at the Robert Crown Center, Spooktacular Celebration at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center, Spooky Saturday in the Main-Dempster Mile business district, and many more.

Farmers' Market Fall Fest this Saturday

Come in costume and celebrate the fall bounty at the Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market's Fall Fest this Sat., Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to noon. The first 100 children under 12 years of age will get a free small pumpkin to decorate and take home. The Market will be open as usual from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Celebrate Dia de los Muertos on Sunday

Dia de los Muertos


This Sun., Oct. 29, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., stop by the Levy Center to celebrate Dia de los Muertos! The free event will feature a live puppet show from renowned storyteller and puppeteer Marilyn Price, a performance by Sones de Mexico Ensemble, and interactive arts stations where families can create ofrendas together. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Pay Your 2018 Wheel Tax Conveniently Online Beginning November 1

Beginning Wed., Nov. 1, residents may begin to pay for their City of Evanston wheel tax, residential parking permits, and residential parking passes for 2018. This Fri., Oct. 27, preprinted renewal notices will be mailed to residents with an online renewal ID and instructions. The deadline to pay the wheel tax is Sun., Dec. 31, 2017.

Sheridan Project Complete from Chicago to Lincoln

Sheridan Road construction complete


Construction on Sheridan Road, from Chicago Avenue to Lincoln Street, is now complete. All lanes have been reopened to traffic. Construction fencing will be removed by the end of the week.
