Amnesty Program

Drivers who owe outstanding parking tickets to the City of Evanston can avoid paying additional fees during a one-time parking ticket amnesty program through September 30, 2017.

Any fees assessed beyond the original citation amount will be waived during this time, and only the original amount of the ticket will be due. Those who have outstanding parking citations with the City will be mailed a notice.

Parking tickets can be paid:

  • Online at cityofevanston.org/ticket
  • By phone by calling 888-232-9326 or 847-448-4311
  • By mail using the envelope provided with the mailed notification
  • In person at the City Collector’s Office, 2100 Ridge Ave., between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Extended hours will be offered during the amnesty program on Wednesdays, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., through September.

In order to pay online or by phone, drivers will need to have their ticket and license plate numbers handy. A $2.95 convenience fee may apply.


2018 Budget Outreach Meeting

The City of Evanston will host a Multi-media Fiscal Year 2018 Budget Outreach Meeting on Wednesday, September 13, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Morton Civic Center, Room G300 (ground floor), 2100 Ridge Ave., in Evanston.

Community members are encouraged to attend the meeting or watch it live:

Residents can participate by submitting their budget questions and comments in-person at the meeting; calling/texting 847-448-4311; emailing 311center@cityofevanston.org; tweeting @CityofEvanston2 using  #EvBudget18; and commenting on the City of Evanston’s Facebook Live broadcast of the event.

Streets Alive! and Evanston Green Living Festival

Evanston Streets Alive! is an annual innovative, green open streets festival on Main Street from Robert Crown Park to Chicago Avenue. It features free activities for all ages including a green market, exercise classes, music and art, food, alternative energy exhibitions, and more!

'Kits, 'Cats and Kids
Thurs., Sept. 14 in Downtown Evanston at Clark St. from Sherman to Benson Aves. The 'Kits, 'Cats and Kids Block Party will take place on Sherman Avenue between Church and Clark Streets and on Clark Street between Sherman and Benson Avenues.There will be games, arts and crafts, family-friendly activities filling the street, live music, the ETHS Marching Band and NU Marching Band, rousing pep rally-style speeches, and lots of dining options.

Fiesta - Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration
Sun., Sept. 17 from noon to 4 p.m. at Kamen Park East located at South Blvd. and Barton Ave. This is a family event, so come celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Latinx businesses! There will be music, food trucks and vendors, kids' activities, giveaways for the first 100 families and more. Free admission.
