Improvements Planned at Sherman Plaza, Maple Avenue Parking Garages

Over the next two months, the City of Evanston will contract improvements at the Sherman Plaza and Maple Avenue parking garages.

Improvements at the Sherman Plaza garage will include concrete repair, traffic coating replacement, and new elevator floor finishes. Work at the Maple Avenue garage will include traffic coating replacement, new elevator floor finishes, and reapplication of pavement markings.

The project will begin in August and is expected to be completed during the month of September. During construction, both garages will remain open to the public at all times. Construction area parking restrictions within portions of the garages will be intermittent throughout the project and will be noted with temporary “No Parking” signs posted 48 hours prior to the start of work. Temporary closures at garage entrances will also be required, but will be staged to allow for continual garage operation. Every effort will be made to minimize inconveniences during construction.

The general contractor for this project is Bulley & Andrews Concrete Restoration, 1755 W. Armitage Ave., Chicago.
