Minor Repairs to Main Street, Church Street Bridges Begin June 16

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago will perform minor bridge repair work on the Church Street and Main Street bridges over the North Shore Channel.

On Friday, June 16, work will take place on the Church Street Bridge, which will consist of replacing five bolts in the understructure. This work will require the closure of the westbound right lane for approximately 3 to 4 hours. Drivers should expect short delays crossing the bridge.

Work on the Main Street Bridge will begin on Monday, June 19. Work will consist of replacing a small section of concrete sidewalk on the south side of the bridge approach as well as replacing a broken anchor on a rail post, which is also on the south side of the bridge. No lane closures are anticipated, but the sidewalk on the south side of the bridge will be closed for several days.
