I hope this newsletter finds you well. Please join me for our next 2nd Ward meeting this Thursday, June 8,6:30 p.m., at Fire Station 1,1332 Emerson St.  Please note the change in time and location.  Ward meetings are your opportunity to share concerns and discuss issues that impact our ward and the greater community. Next month We have an opportunity meet the staff, tour the ground level and enjoy a light meal.

My goal is to keep all neighbors in our ward informed about upcoming events and opportunities that they can benefit from. If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to contact me directly. I can be reached at pbraithwaite@cityofevanston.org or 847-801-9386.

2nd Ward Meeting Time and Location Change, June 8

Fire Station 1

The next 2nd Ward meeting will be held on Thursday, June 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Evanston Fire Station 1,1332 Emerson Rd. for a fire station meet and greet with our firefighters. Free hot dogs and pop will be provided.

Evanston Sings Community Choir Concert, June 16

Evanston Own It will host its third annual “Evanston Sings” community choir concert on Friday, June 16, 7 p.m., at the Evanston Township High School Auditorium, 1600 Dodge Ave. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the door or at Ebony Barbershop or Church Street Barbershop.  All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Evanston Summer Youth Program. 


Career Workshop for Veterans, July 25

On Tuesday, July 25, 2017, Northwestern University will host a career workshop for veterans at Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Dr. The workshop will focus on resume writing, interviewing skills, how to network with key contacts, learn how to translate military experience into a civilian job, and learn about working for Northwestern. More details to come. This event is sponsored by Northwestern’s Office of Equal Opportunity and Access, Office of Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and Office of Institutional Diversity & Inclusion.
