2017 Parking Lot Improvements Planned at City Permit Lots, Levy Center

The City will be contracting parking lot improvements at the following locations over the next four months.

Levy Center Parking Lot

Improvements to the Levy Center parking lot are scheduled to begin August 7 and be completed by September 15, and will include asphalt resurfacing of the existing pavement, minor landscaping, and the installation of additional LED lighting at the entrances to improve visibility. This work also includes the addition of 29 head-in parking stalls along the south side of Mulford Street adjacent to the James Park baseball fields.

The lot will be completely closed to the public from August 7 to August 11, which coincides with a planned closure of the Levy Center facility for maintenance work. From August 12 to September 15, the parking lot construction will be staged to allow parking in approximately half of the parking lot at a time.

City Permit Lots

Improvements to City permit parking lots will begin June 12 and will include reconstruction of the existing pavement with both conventional asphalt and porous concrete paver blocks, replacement of the existing lot lighting with new foundations, poles and LED lighting, and site restoration. Due to the scope of work, each lot is expected to be completely closed for the entire four-week period. The lots are tentatively scheduled as follows.

Contractor
The general contractor for this project is Builders Paving, LLC, 4413 Roosevelt Rd., Suite 108, Hillside, IL 60162.
