UPDATE: ADDITIONAL CHARGES AGAINST OFFENDER IN NARCOTICS INVESTIGATION
On Friday, April 14, 2017 at approximately 9:38 AM, Robert L. Crayton, 39 years old, from Evanston was taken into custody in the 200 block of Dodge Avenue in reference to a long term narcotics investigation that was conducted by the Evanston Police Department Special Operations Group in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation - Safe Streets North Task Force.
The investigation was initiated in 2015 and targeted the sale of heroin in Evanston. During the investigation, numerous narcotics purchases were made by undercover officers in order to identify individuals involved in the sale and distribution of heroin in Evanston. Crayton is currently being charged with 5 counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance in reference to undercover narcotics purchases that were made in Evanston. Approximately 80 grams of heroin was recovered during the undercover purchases.
Detectives involved in the investigation appeared before a Cook County Grand Jury, who gave true-bill indictments on the below offenses against Crayton.
