Evanston Beach Season Begins Saturday!

Evanston's five public swimming beaches open for the season this Sat., May 27! Through Fri., June 9, beach hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. From Sat., June 10 through Labor Day, beach hours are 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. A daily pass or season token is required for admission.

Reminder: Memorial Day Holiday Schedule

Evanston American Legion Post 42 will host a community reflection and ceremony honoring America's fallen heroes at Patriots Park, located at Sheridan Road and Davis Street, on Mon., May 29 at 10 a.m.

No refuse collections will occur on Mon., May 29 in observance of Memorial Day. All trash, yard waste and recycling collections will occur one day later in the week. Friday condo recycling collections will occur Fri., June 2. Parking meters and downtown garages will be free on Memorial Day. New this year, parking meters will display a digital message alerting users that free holiday parking is in effect.

It's your last chance to sign up for the City's 2017 Private Elm Tree Insurance Program! The deadline to enroll is Wed., May 31. The program covers the removal of elm trees on private property lost due to Dutch elm disease (DED).

Spring Reminder for Evanston Pet Owners

With warmer weather on the way, dog owners are reminded to leash their pets in public parks. Residents who would like to allow their dog to run off leash may purchase an annual membership to Pooch Park or the Evanston Dog Beach.
