Evanston property owners concerned about their property taxes have an opportunity to do something about next year’s tax bills. Homeowners can appeal their 2017 assessed values with the Cook County Assessor through Monday, March 27.
Evanston residents seeking help filing an appeal can call 311 (847-448-4311 outside of Evanston) to either schedule an appointment to visit the Property Tax Assessment Review Office or to request an Appeal Authorization Form, which allows an appeal to be filed online on their behalf without visiting the office. Those seeking an Appeal Authorization Form may visit cityofevanston.org/propertytax, contact 311, or email Mitzi Gibbs at mgibbs@cityofevanston.org.

On Sat. April 8 and May Join an adult learning community to study water, a defining
feature of our geography and of our social, economic,
political, cultural, and spiritual lives.
Evanston’s location on the southwest shore of Lake
Michigan, one of the five Great Lakes in the Great
Lakes Watershed, means that we are some of the major
beneficiaries and caretakers of the largest system of
freshwater on the surface of earth.
Each workshop includes a short talk, discussion, hands-on
activity and tea. No registration is necessary – just drop by.
