Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program Job Fair March 11

Evanston youth age 14 to 18 years can find their perfect summer job at Mayor Tisdahl's Summer Youth Employment Program (MSYEP) Job Fair on Sat., March 11, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at ETHS! The Youth Job Center is hosting three upcoming Resume & Interview Skills Workshops to help students prepare.

Join Mayor Tisdahl for a Town Hall Meeting on Tues., Feb. 21, at 7 p.m., at the Levy Senior Center. Mayor Tisdahl and City staff will discuss issues of interest, including the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program (MSYEP) and workforce development, public safety, and the Robert Crown Community Center Project. An open discussion will follow.

Street Cleaning Season Begins March 1

Street cleaning begins on Wed., March 1. New parking signs installed in 2016 at the beginning and end of each block indicate the specific days and times that parking restrictions are in place (i.e. First Thursday of Month, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.). The City also offers convenient text message and email notifications to remind you to move your vehicle. Sign up online or call/text 847-448-4311.

Part 1 Crimes Down 7.2 Percent in 2016

The Evanston Police Department has released the city's Part 1 crime statistics for 2016. Part I crimes were down 7.2 percent compared to 2015, which equated to 141 fewer victims.
